The Washington Capitals will be going for their third straight road win on Tuesday night when they go up against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Lightning were able to beat the Capitals 4-3 at home in their first meeting of the season.

Over the weekend, the Capitals won their second straight game when they easily defeated the New Jersey Devils 4-1 on the road. Goalie Braden Holtby ended up being the top star in that win by stopping 33 of the 34 shots that came his way.

Washington now has one of the top three power plays in the NHL by scoring 28.2 percent of the time with the extra man. Holtby is now 10-7-3 on the year with one shutout, a 2.34 GAA and a .916 save percentage. Center Nicklas Backstrom has 20 assists through 26 games and leads the team in points with 25.

The Lightning couldn't get their shots to hit the back of the net on Saturday when they were beaten 4-1 by the Columbus Blue Jackets. They were 0-for-2 on the power play in that loss and could only net one goal despite finishing with 34 shots.

Through 28 games this season, the Lightning are the top scoring team in the league by averaging 3.5 goals per game. Big goalie Ben Bishop has a very good 16-4-2 record this year with one shutout, a 2.24 GAA and a .916 save percentage.
