The Washington Capitals will be going on the road to face the New Jersey Devils on Saturday in a game between two of the better power plays in the Eastern Conference. The Caps and the Devils have already played each other twice this year, with both teams picking up one win.

The Capitals were able to snap their two-game losing streak on Thursday night by defeating the Carolina Hurricanes 2-1 on the road. They were very disciplined in that win, finishing with just one penalty and never having to go on the penalty kill.

Washington's power play has been one of the best in the NHL this season by scoring on 27.5 percent of their opportunities. Left wing Alex Ovechkin has had a pretty good start to the year by notching 12 goals and nine assists in 25 games. Goalie Braden Holtby is now 9-7-3 on the season with a 2.42 GAA and a .912 save percentage.

The Devils ended their four-game losing skid on Thursday night by beating the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-3 on the road. They were solid on the power play in that win, going 2-for-3 with the extra man

Through their first 26 games of the year, the Devils are near the bottom of the Eastern Conference in scoring with just 3.4 goals per game. Goalie Cory Schneider now has a 10-11-3 record on the season with two shutouts, a .916 save percentage and a 2.54 GAA.
