Thursday night, the Vancouver Canucks will make their way to the Scottrade Center as they take the ice against the St. Louis Blues.

The Vancouver Canucks fell behind early in their Tuesday night game against the Dallas Stars and they paid the price with a 6 - 3 loss. Dallas scored early and often and Vancouver seemed powerless to stop them.  The Stars scored 3 times in the 1st period and were up 5 -0 in the 2nd before the Canucks scored their 1st goal.  Dallas resumed their scoring charge and despite another 2nd period goal by Vancouver, they were up 6 - 2 going into the 3rd. The extra Vancouver goal in the 3rd just made the final score seem closer than it really was.  Vancouver outshot Dallas 46 to 28 but they couldn’t get the puck in the net when they needed to.  They might not get too many chances against a St. Louis team that ordinarily doesn’t give up too many goals.

The St. Louis Blues were playing their 3rd game in 4 nights on Saturday and it showed in the 3 -0 loss to the Anaheim Ducks.  Anaheim scored at 1:37 into the game and never looked back.  They were up 3 -0 by the end of the 2nd period and that was all that they needed. Battling fatigue and the Ducks was just too much for the Blues as they were pushed around on the Ducks’ power play and on the face-offs. But a few days off should improve St. Louis’ chances against a Vancouver team fresh off a couple of losses.
