On Sunday night, the Vancouver Canucks will be going up against the Detroit Red Wings, who have won their last two home games. During the 2013-14 season, the Red Wings were able to win both of their games against the Canucks.

The Canucks won their third game in a row on Friday night when they shut out the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-0 on the road. Goaltender Ryan Miller was excellent in that win, stopping all 30 of the shots that came his way.

Through their first 23 games, the Canucks have been the sixth-best scoring team in the NHL by averaging three goals per game. Miller is now 15-3-0 on the year with three shutouts, a 2.32 GAA and a .914 save percentage. Left wing Daniel Sedin has scored four goals this season and has a team-high 17 assists.

Against the New Jersey Devils on Friday, the Red Wings came back from three goals down and ended up winning 5-4 in overtime. Their top player in that game was left wing Mike Cammalleri, who had two of his team's five goals.

So far this season, the Red Wings have been able to score 2.9 goals per game while only giving up 2.3 goals per game. Defenseman Niklas Kronwall has three goals through 23 games and is second on the team in points with 15. Goalie Jimmy Howard has won 10 of his 18 starts and has a solid .920 save percentage.
