The Toronto Maple Leafs will be going up against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday night in a game that will feature the two top offenses in the NHL.

The first time these two teams played each other this year, the Maple Leafs came away with an easy 5-2 win over the Lightning. Left wing James van Riemsdyk was the top star in that game, scoring two of the Maple Leafs' five goals.

Maple Leafs goalie Jonathan Bernier has faced the Lightning three times in his career, going 3-0-0 with a 1.67 GAA and a .952 save percentage. Right wing Phil Kessel has 10 goals and 15 assists in his 31 games against Tampa Bay, while van Riemsdyk now has seven goals and seven assists against them in 19 career games.

On Saturday night, the Lightning picked up their second straight win when they defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 2-1 on home ice. Goalie Ben Bishop was very good in that win, stopping 25 of the 26 shots that came his way.

The Lightning are one of the top scoring teams in the league this season by scoring over three goals per game. Bishop is now 17-6-2 with one shutout, a .915 save percentage and a 2.30 GAA. Center Tyler Johnson currently leads the team in points by notching 13 goals and 24 assists in 36 games.
