Philadelphia has some breathing room en route to a hopeful playoff appearance but the same can not be said for Toronto. The Maple Leafs are one of four teams in the East with 80 points but only two spots to squeeze into. Currently Toronto finds themselves on the outside looking in behind Washington, Detroit, and Columbus but a road win Friday could end a six game losing streak and could salvage the season.

Philadelphia has been tearing up the ice lately going 7-2-1 while paying out bettors four times as underdogs. The hot streak includes two wins over first place Pittsburgh, a 4-1 shellacking of top Western seed St. Louis and an overtime victory over the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks. Getting right at the right time is a key to a long playoff run and the Flyers hot play has left them only a point away from home ice advantage in round one.

Toronto, on the other hand, picked the worst possible time for a meltdown. They passed all the other teams chasing them on the way down the elevator, falling out of a playoff spot while going 3-7 in their last 10. Granted the schedule hasn't been kind with the Maple Leafs only being favored in 2 of those games but when the season is winding down a team needs wins. Toronto does have the momentum of winning a 4-3 overtime matchup against Philadelphia at the Air Canada Centre only 3 weeks ago. The Maple Leafs scored 2 minutes into overtime to salvage the win as -120 favorites.
