The New York Rangers rolled over the Toronto Maple Leafs last time these two teams met up by a final of 7-1. The Rangers didn't give the Maple Leafs much time to celebrate their recent win and neither team couldn't have been at more opposite places before the start of this game. The Rangers coming off a poor performance just a day earlier and the Maple Leafs had just won the Winter Classic. Dominic Moore led the Rangers with two goals on five shots. With Moore and several other Rangers firing on all cylinders, the Rangers gave Jonathan Bernier an early night by scoring five goals by the end of the second period. Bernier made some good stops on the night but New York continued to win puck battles and took advantage of Maple Leaf errors. Joffrey Lupul got the Maple Leafs on the board in the second with a goal but that was all Toronto would get in this game. The Rangers were peppering shots on goal and finished with a 50-26 margin in SOG. Every skater for the Rangers ended the game with a SOG for the night and 15 different players had at least one point.
New York has been dominating this series by winning the last three times these two have met and have won seven out of 10. New York has also been a favorite in nine of the last 10 games when they've faced Montreal. The Rangers have been playing slightly better hockey as of late by winning six of their last 10 games. Toronto will surely be looking to change the tide against New York and start getting some wins in this series but with this game being played in New York and the Rangers playing so well at home, we think the Rangers will once again have an advantage in this game.
