The Toronto Maple Leafs will be playing in the third of seven consecutive road games on Sunday night when they visit the Florida Panthers. During the 2013-14 season, the Panthers were able to win three out of their four games against the Maple Leafs.

On Tuesday night, the Maple Leafs snapped their three-game losing streak when they shut out the Dallas Stars 4-0 on the road. It was quite an effort from goalie Jonathan Bernier, who stopped all 43 shots that came his way.

Through 35 games this season, the Maple Leafs now have the top scoring team in the NHL by averaging 3.3 goals per game. Right wing Phil Kessel has led that offensive attack by notching 17 goals and 21 assists.

The Panthers have now won three out of their last four games after defeating the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 in the shootout on Monday night. They were the more physical team in that game and ended up with a 37-27 shooting advantage.

So far this year, the Panthers have only given up 2.4 goals per game to their opponents, but they have only been able to average 2.1 goals per game themselves. Veteran goalie Roberto Luongo has a 3-7-6 record on the season with one shutout, a .924 save percentage and a 2.30 GAA. Center Nick Bjugstad currently leads the team in scoring with 12 goals.
