The Tampa Bay Lightning will be going up against the Washington Capitals on Saturday night in a game that will feature two of the top 10 offenses in the NHL. The Lightning and the Capitals have played each other twice so far this year, with both teams picking up one win.

On Thursday night, the Lightning snapped their two-game losing skid when they beat the Carolina Hurricanes 2-1 at home. They went 1-for-2 on the power play in that win while also finishing with a 29-22 advantage at the faceoff dot.

The Lightning are currently in the top half of the league in scoring, goals against and power play percentage. Center Steven Stamkos has been excellent this season, notching 17 goals and 16 assists in just 30 games.

On Thursday night, the Capitals had their three-game winning streak come to an end when the Columbus Blue Jackets beat them 3-2 in overtime. The Caps did score an early power play goal in that game, but they ended up going just 1-for-6 with the extra man.

The Capitals have almost given up as many goals as they have scored this season, and they are near the bottom of the league in penalty kill percentage. Defenseman John Carlson has had a good offensive season this year, notching four goals and 17 assists. Goaltender Braden Holtby has an 11-7-4 record this season with a .914 save percentage and a 2.40 GAA.
