The Tampa Bay Lightning, who are 5-2-1 on the road this season, will be visiting the New York Rangers on Monday night. Last year, Tampa Bay was able to defeat the Rangers in two of their three games against them.

The Lightning scored three goals in the first period of their game against the New York Islanders on Saturday, which helped them pick up a 5-2 win. Right wing Ryan Callahan was the first star in that game by scoring one goal and providing the assist on another.

So far this season, the Lightning have been able to score 3.6 goals per game while only giving up 2.6 goals per game. Goalie Ben Bishop is 10-2-2 with a .918 save percentage and a 2.34 GAA. Center Steven Stamkos has a team-high 11 goals and 19 points, while Tyler Johnson leads the team with 13 assists.

On Saturday night, the Rangers scored two early goals against the Pittsburgh Penguins on the road, but that was all they would score as they ended up losing 3-2 in the shootout. Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist certainly did his part in that game by stopping 36 of the 38 shots he faced.

The Rangers have struggled a bit on defense this year, giving up 2.9 goals per game to their opponents. Left wing Rick Nash has 19 points in 17 games, including 12 goals. Lundqvist is now 7-4-3 on the season with three shutouts and a .916 save percentage.
