On Wednesday night, the high-scoring Tampa Bay Lightning will be going up against the struggling defense of the Buffalo Sabres. The Lightning and the Sabres have played each other twice so far this season, with both teams picking up a home win.

The Lightning were able to pick up their third win in a row on Monday night by defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 at home. Steven Stamkos and Ryan Callahan were their top players in that win by notching a goal and an assist apiece.

Stamkos has scored 20 goals this season and is leading the team in points with 38. Goaltender Ben Bishop is 18-6-2 this season with one shutout, a .914 save percentage and a 2.29 GAA.

On Monday night, the Sabres gave up three third-period goal to the Ottawa Senators and lost the game 5-2 on the road. Goalie Jhonas Enroth had a rough game in that loss, giving up four goals on 35 shots faced.

Right now, the Sabres are in the bottom five in the league in scoring, goals against and power play percentage. Their top offensive player has been center Tyler Ennis, who now has been able to notch eight goals and 15 assists in 37 games.
