The St. Louis Blues will be going on the road on Saturday night to take on the San Jose Sharks in game between two of the top power plays in the Western Conference. The Sharks were able to win all three of their games against the Blues during the 2013-14 season.

On Thursday, the Blues allowed the Los Angeles Kings to score three goals in the third period against them to beat them 6-4. They allowed the Kings to score on three of their six power plays and ended up being outshot 37-28 on the night.

Through their first 32 games this year, the Blues are in the top five in the league with a 25.4 power play percentage. Their best offensive player has been right wing Vladimir Tarasenko, who has 20 goals and 17 assists so far this year. Netminder Jake Allen is 11-3-1 with two shutouts, a 2.47 GAA and a .908 save percentage.

In their game against the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night, the Sharks picked up their fourth straight win by coming away with a 4-3 home victory. Rookie left wing Barclay Goodrow had his best game as a pro in that one by scoring a goal and providing an assist on another.

The Sharks currently have one of the best power plays in the league by scoring on 24.2 percent of their chances with the extra man. Goalie Antti Niemi is now 13-7-3 with two shutouts and a .918 save percentage.
