Saturday afternoon, the St. Louis Blues will take the ice at the Canadian Tire Centre as they face the Ottawa Senators.

The St. Louis Blues took a 4 – 1 loss Thursday night as they wilted under an offensive onslaught by the Montreal Canadiens.  The Blues took a 1 -0 lead in the 1st period thanks to a Vladimir Tarasenko goal but they would never lead again.   The Canadiens scored twice in the first 8 minutes of the 2nd period to take a 2 – 1 lead and they followed those two goals up with 2 more in the 3rd to secure the win.  St. Louis had been on a nice run prior to Thursday night as they had posted wins in 10 of their previous 12 games but this became their 2nd loss in a row.  The Blues will try to turn it around against a Senators team also trying to put some wins together.

The Ottawa Senators notched a solid win on Thursday night as they slid past the Nashville Predators 3 -2.  The Predators took advantage of an early power play in the 1st period to take a 1 – 0 lead.  That lead held until the beginning of the 2nd period when the Senators seemed to wake up in a big way.  Ottawa posted 3 goals in the 2nd period to take a 3 -1 lead and they were able to withstand a Nashville goal early in the 3rd to hold on for the win. Ottawa has been up and down in recent games and with a 4 - 6 record in their last 10 games they will look to start a win streak on Saturday afternoon.
