On Wednesday night, the St. Louis Blues will go for their third win in a row when they take on the Chicago Blackhawks. In late October, the Blues beat the Blackhawks 3-2 at home in their first meeting of the season.

The Blues scored a late game-tying goal in the third period of their game against the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night and went on to win 3-2 in the shootout. They won that game despite going 0-for-2 on the power play and being outshot 38-26.

Through 24 games, the Blues have one of the best defenses in the league by only giving up two goals per game. Right wing Vladimir Tarasenko has led the offense this season by scoring 14 goals and providing an assist on 12 others. Goalie Brian Elliott is now 8-4-1 on the year with one shutout and an excellent .931 save percentage.

Last Saturday, the Blackhawks won their third game in a row when they defeated the Los Angeles Kings 4-1 on the road. Their defense was solid in that win, holding the Kings to just 20 shots on goal.

The Blackhawks have been able to score three goals per game this season while only allowing opponents to score two goals per game against them. All-Star winger Patrick Kane has been their top offensive contributor by notching 10 goals and 13 assists in just 24 games.
