On Tuesday night, the St. Louis Blues and their top-rated defense will go on the road to take on the Boston Bruins. The Blues were able to win both of their games against the Bruins during the 2013-14 season.

The Blues won their third game in a row on this past Saturday when they easily beat the Washington Capitals 4-1 at home. A key to that win was that the Blues didn't allow Washington's top-rated power play to get any chances with the extra man.

Through 17 games, the Blues clearly have the best defense in the league by only giving up 1.9 goals per game. Their best player has been right wing Vladimir Tarasenko, who already has 10 goals and 11 assists. Goalie Brian Elliott is now 7-3-1 on the season with a shutout and a fantastic .930 save percentage.

On Saturday, the Bruins snapped their two-game losing streak when they beat the Carolina Hurricanes 2-1 at home. They won that game despite going 0-for-2 on the power play and being outshot 34-25 by Carolina.

Boston's penalty kill has been very poor through 19 games by allowing opponents' power plays to score on them 22 percent of the time. Left wing Brad Marchand has 11 points so far this season with a team-high plus/minus of +5. Netminder Tuukka Rask is 9-5-0 with a 2.56 GAA and a .908 save percentage.
