The New York Rangers last played the San Jose Sharks all the way back on October 8th.  This was not a good game for the Rangers who lost the game 9-2. The Sharks'  Tomas Hertl had a franchise best four goals on the night with his seven shots on goal.  The New York Rangers defense looked to be nonexistent during the game and allowed the Sharks forty seven shots on goal. 

The Rangers finished the night with only twenty shots on goal.  Rangers’ goalie Henrik Lundqvist gave up New York’s first four goals before being replaced by Martin Biron.  Biron did not fare any better against the hot Sharks offense and had only sixteen saves for the Sharks’ 21 shots on goal.  Lundqvist finished the game with 22 saves off twenty six shots.

The San Jose Sharks currently are tied with the Anaheim Ducks for their division lead.  Each team has 93 points.  The Sharks are on a four game winning streak.  The New York Rangers are tied with Columbus for third in their division and have lost five out of their last seven games.
