The San Jose Sharks were able to get the 4-3 overtime win over the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night to take a 3-0 lead in the series. The visitors' overtime winner was scored by San Jose center Patrick Marleau, who now has an amazing four overtime goals in the playoffs in his career.

San Jose got on the scoreboard first at the 3:16 mark of the opening period through Brent Burns' power-play tally, which was his second goal of the series. Jarret Stoll scored a power-play goal of his own five minutes into the second period, which was followed three minutes later by Marian Gaborik's unassisted goal to put the Kings on top 2-1. The lead wouldn't last long, though, as Matt Nieto evened up the scores at 2 off assists from Jason Demers and Marleau.

Less than a minute into the third period, the Kings would retake the lead on a Jeff Carter power-play goal, which he tipped in off of a shot by Anze Kopitar. The Sharks played very well in the third period and were rewarded when Tomas Hertl scored the tying goal midway through the period just after his team's power play came to and end.

Marleau's game-winner came six minutes into the extra period when his shot hit off of Kings defenseman Slava Voynov's stick and got past goalie Jonathan Quick.

Quick had 36 saves on the night, while Sharks netminder Antti Niemi stopped 28 of the Kings' 31 shots.
