The San Jose Sharks will look to improve upon their 9-7-3 road record on Saturday night when they visit the Los Angeles Kings. The first time these two teams met this season, the Sharks were able to shut out the Kings 4-0 on the road.

On Monday night, the Sharks saw their five-game winning streak come to an end when they were defeated 3-2 in overtime by the Anaheim Ducks. Goalie Antti Niemi was pretty good in the losing effort, saving 29 shots and finishing with a .906 save percentage.

The Sharks currently have the top power play in the NHL by scoring goals on 25 percent of their opportunities with the extra man. Veteran center Joe Pavelski has had a good start to the season by scoring 16 goals and providing 13 assists to his teammates.

The Kings allowed the Calgary Flames to come back in their matchup on Monday night and ended up losing 4-3 in overtime. They lost that game despite scoring on both of their power play opportunities and finishing with a 34-28 shooting advantage.

So far this season, the Kings have struggled on the offensive end of the ice, but their defense and goaltenders are only allowing 2.4 goals per game. Netminder Jonathan Quick has won 14 of his 28 starts this year and has three shutouts, a 2.35 GAA and a .921 save percentage.
