The San Jose Sharks will go on the road on Saturday night to take on the Dallas Stars, who have no lost six games in a row. Last season, the Sharks were able to beat the Stars in two out of their three games against each other.

The Sharks played well defensively against the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday, but they still ended up losing 3-2 on home ice. They gave up just 19 shots on goal in that game, but they did allowed the Canucks to score on their only power play opportunity.

In their first 14 games, the Sharks have a 25.5 percent power play percentage, which is one of the five best in the NHL right now. Center Logan Couture has 13 points on the season, including a team-high seven goals. Netminder Antti Niemi is 6-3-1 with a shutout and a .918 save percentage.

On Thursday night, the Stars' struggles continued as they were beaten 3-2 by the Nashville Predators at home. Their penalty kill was to blame for that loss as they allowed the Predators to score on two of their three chances with the extra man.

The Stars are in the bottom half of the league in goals against after giving up 3.4 goals per game in their first 13 games. Their best player has been center Tyler Seguin, who has seven goals and nine assists. Goaltender Kari Lehtonen has a 4-3-4 record with a .904 save percentage and a 2.94 GAA.
