The San Jose Sharks will be playing the last game of their seven-game road trip when they visit the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night. Earlier this season, the Sabres were able to beat the Sharks 2-1 in San Jose.

San Jose played great defense in their game against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday and ended up shutting them out 2-0 on the road. In that win, rookie goalie Troy Grosenick came away with a 45-save shutout in his NHL debut.

Through 20 games, the Sharks have a top 10 power play by scoring 23 percent of the time with the extra man. Their best player has been veteran Joe Thornton, who has seven goals and 11 assists so far this season.

The Sabres had their best offensive performance of the season last Saturday when they were able to beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-2 at home. They were extremely physical in that game and finished with a huge 40-19 hits advantage.

So far this season, the Sabres have had the worst power play in the NHL by only scoring on seven percent of their chances with the extra man. Right wing Drew Stafford has four goals and a team-high eight assists, but he also has a plus/minus of -11. Netminder Michal Neuvirth is 3-5-1 in his nine starts with a 2.96 GAA and a .918 save percentage.
