Sunday night, the San Jose Sharks will visit the Boston Bruins

The San Jose Sharks will enter Boston’s TD Garden after getting shutout 4 – 0 by the New York Rangers Sunday afternoon.  In that game, San Jose was simply overpowered by the Rangers.  After a scoreless 1st period, the Rangers scored 3 goals in the 2nd (including 2 in the span of 4 seconds). New York added a 4th in the 3rd for extra measure.  The Sharks could have been feeling the effects of their 3rd game in 4 days.  That fatigue might continue in Boston, which will be the 4th stop on a 5 game road trip for the Sharks.  Fatigue is the only logical reason to explain why one of the best teams in hockey couldn’t muster a single goal.  And their next opponent, the Boston Bruins, might push an already tired team to the brink.

The Boston Bruins had no trouble scoring in their last game and they will look to put up some big numbers against a potentially worn down Sharks team.  On Saturday night, the Bruins beat the Buffalo Sabres 4 – 0. In their first shutout of the season, the Bruins got solid production on offense and were smothering on defense.  Boston scored 2 goals in the 1st and followed them up with 2 more in the 2nd.  In their last 2 games, the Bruins have scored 8 times and that could spell trouble for the Sharks.  Unless the Sharks defense can slow down the Bruins, it could be another long night for San Jose.
