The San Jose Sharks, who are just 9-8-3 away from home this season, will be visiting the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday night.

The Sharks and the Ducks have already played against each other three times this season, with the Sharks coming away the victors in two of those games. Anaheim was able to win 3-2 in overtime in their most recent game, though.

Sharks veteran Joe Thornton has notched 17 goals and 50 assists in his 70 career games against the Ducks, while center Joe Pavelski has 27 points in his 48 games against them. Netminder Antti Niemi has made 22 starts against Anaheim in his career, going 12-9-1 against them with a .907 save percentage and a 2.60 GAA.

On Sunday night, the Ducks played in their third consecutive overtime game and came away with a 2-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks at home. They were goalless on their four power play opportunities, but they did a great job to hold the Canucks to just 14 shots on goal.

So far this season, the Ducks have scored 2.7 goals per game while giving up 2.6 goals per game to their opponents. Frederik Andersen has been one of the better goalies in the league this season by going 20-5-5 with one shutout and a 2.29 GAA. Left wing Matt Beleskey currently leads the team in goals with 15.
