The San Jose Sharks, who are 9-7-2 away from home this year, will be going on the road on Monday night to face the Anaheim Ducks. The Sharks have won both of their games against the Ducks this season, including a 6-4 home win late last month.

On Saturday night, the Sharks won their fifth game in a row when they beat the St. Louis Blues 3-2 in overtime. Veteran center Joe Thornton is currently tied for the team lead in points by notching eight goals and a team-high 21 assists.

Through 34 games this season, the Sharks are near the top of the Western Conference in both power play percentage and penalty kill percentage. They were clearly the better offensive team in that game, outshooting the Blues 30-20.

On Friday night, the Ducks gave up two goals in each of the three periods of their game against the Ottawa Senators, losing 6-2 on the road. Their power play had another rough game in that one, finishing 0-for-3 with the extra man.

The Ducks have a good record so far this season, but they are currently in the bottom half of the league in goals against, power play percentage and penalty kill percentage. Center Ryan Getzlaf has had a great start to the year by notching 12 goals and a team-high 25 assists. Netminder Frederik Andersen is currently 18-5-4 with one shutout, a 2.41 GAA and a .913 save percentage.
