On Thursday, the Pittsburgh Penguins will head north of the border and take on the Winnipeg Jets at the MTS Centre. The Jets are in the middle of the pack out of the Central Division, with 15 points. The Winnipeg Jets picked up a big win Tuesday night 3-1 over the Nashville Predators. The win for Winnipeg pushed them to 7-5-1, and they now have 15 points. The Jets scored two goals early as Andrew Ladd and Mark Scheifele notched power play goals. Late in the game, Blake Wheeler added a goal. Goaltender Ondrej Pavelec turned away 23 shots in the win. The Jets are led in scoring by center Bryan Little with 9 points.

For Pittsburgh, they have now won five straight games and lead the Metropolitan Division with 17 points. In the win on Tuesday over Minnesota, the Penguins used an early goal from Nick Spaling, his second of the season as well as additional goals from Brandon Suter, Chris Kunitz and Patrick Hornqvist. On Saturday, the Penguins blanked the Buffalo Sabres 5-0. Pittsburgh ranks at the top of the league with 4.1 goals per game. The power play for the Penguins ranks top in the league as well; scoring on nearly 42%. Sidney Crosby continues to lead the team in scoring; as he has 11 assists and 7 goals.
