The Columbus Blue Jackets looked like they were headed for their second straight loss in their series against the Pittsburgh Penguins, but they came back from 3-1 down and eventually won 4-3 in double overtime.

The Penguins got off to a fantastic start when Brian Gibbons was able to score two goals in the opening four and a half minutes, including a shorthanded tally on his second goal. Ryan Johansen scored a power-play goal not long after Gibbons' second, but Matt Niskanen's power-play goal made it 3-1 Penguins heading into the second period.

The Blue Jackets grabbed the momentum in the second period when Matt Calvert was able to score a shorthanded goal off of assists by Artem Anisimov and David Savard. They then tied the game midway through the third period thanks to Jack Johnson's second of the series. After no goals were scored the rest of regulation and through one overtime period, Calvert was able to convert his own rebound to give Columbus the win.

Calvert's goals were his first ever in the playoffs and he helped to give the Blue Jackets their first playoff win in franchise history. Defenseman David Savard had a solid game on both ends of the ice and ended up with two assists in the win.

Blue Jackets goalie Sergei Bobrovsky had 39 saves for the road team, while Pittsburgh's netminder Marc-Andre Fleury had 41 saves in the losing effort.
