The Los Angeles Kings looked to have a home win sewn up heading into the third period the last time they faced the Phoenix Coyotes, but the visitors were able to get two third period goals to pull off the comeback win. The game definitely had a playoff feel to it, but it was the Coyotes who put in the extra effort late in the game to get the impressive home victory.

Phoenix got off to a great start in this one thanks to first period goals from Rob Klinkhammer and Mikkel Boedker. The Kings were able to get one back near the end of the period on Tanner Pearson's second goal of the season. The second period belonged to Los Angeles, as they got a goal from Alec Martinez 6:50 into the period and a power-play goal from Marian Gaborik to give the Kings the 3-2 lead.

The Coyotes decided to turn it on in the third period, though it wasn't until about halfway through that they would get their third goal. Keith Yandle was able to beat Kings goalie Jonathan Quick with a slap shot to make it 3-3. Jeff Halpern would end up getting the winner seven minutes later to get one of the Coyotes' best wins of the season.

Phoenix goalie Mike Smith had a solid game for the hosts, stopping 36 of 39 shots for a .923 save percentage.
