The Philadelphia Flyers have been known as one of the tougher teams to play on the road for some time now, but the Tampa Bay Lightning were able to dominate them at their own place by the tune of 6-3 the last time the two teams played each other. The Flyers led the shots on goal department 38-25, but the Lightning were able to get better goaltending play and used a huge second period to take the win.

After Tampa Bay's Alex Killorn was able to score the lone goal of the first period with an unassisted tally, the team's combined for a total of seven goals in the second. Teddy Purcell, Ryan Malone, Valtteri Filppula and Martin St. Louis all scored for the Lightning in the second period, while the Flyers got two tallies from Jakub Voraceka and a power-play goal from Wayne Simmonds.

Malone would grab one more for Tampa Bay late in the third to give them the three-goal win.

Matt Carle and B.J. Crombeen finished the game with two assists apiece, while Filppula, Killorn and Purcell all ended up with a goal and an assist in the win. Lightning goalie Ben Bishop had a very good game, saving 35 of the 38 shots sent at him for a .921 save percentage.

Flyers goalie Steve Mason had just 12 saves and let in five goals before being pulled for backup Ray Emery.
