On Tuesday night, the Philadelphia Flyers will be facing the San Jose Sharks in a game that will feature two of the best power plays in the league. The Flyers and the Sharks were each able to pick up a home win from their two-game series against each other last season.

The Flyers lost their fourth consecutive game last Saturday when the New York Rangers beat them 5-2 on the road. They did score on their one power play opportunity in that loss, but they were outshot 35-23 on the night.

Through their first 23 games of the season, the Flyers have one of the worst penalty kills in the league by only stopping 73.8 percent of opposing power plays. Right wing Jakub Voracek has been their best offensive player by scoring nine goals and providing the assist on 23 others.

The Sharks scored three first-period goals in their game against the Anaheim Ducks last Saturday and rolled to a 6-4 home win. Center Tommy Wingels was their top star in that win, scoring a goal and assisting on three others.

So far this season, the Sharks have one of the best power plays in the NHL by scoring on 23.8 percent of their chances with the extra man. Center Logan Couture is tied for the team lead in goals with 10 and now has 21 points in 25 games.
