The Philadelphia Flyers last played the Pittsburgh Penguins on November 13th.  These two teams have a two game series against each other this weekend.  Their last meeting ended with the Flyers beating the Penguins 2-1.  The Penguins came into this game with a record of 11-7 while the Flyers had a record of 7-10-1. Brayden Schenn scored both goals for the Flyers.  His first goal was halfway through the first period off of an assist from teammate Wayne Simmonds.  Schenn’s second goal came late in the second period. 

The Flyers offense did enough to get them the win, but it was the play of goaltender Ray Emery that won Philadelphia the game.  Emery stopped thirty of the Penguins thirty one shots on goal and ensured that the Flyers two scores would be all they needed for the win.  The Penguins coach Dan Bylsma pulled his goalie for the final minutes of the game trying to get an advantage over the stingy Flyers defense.  Unfortunately for the Penguins the Flyers defense did not even allow them to get a shot on the goal in order to tie the game.

Pittsburgh currently sits in the top spot in their division and is on a three game winning streak.  The Flyers are nineteen points behind the Penguins, but could close that lead in their upcoming two game series.
