Saturday afternoon, the Philadelphia Flyers will complete a holiday weekend home and home series against the New York Rangers with a trip to Madison Square Garden. 

The Philadelphia Flyers will make their way to the “Big Apple” on Saturday after hosting the Rangers Friday afternoon at the Wells Fargo Center.  The season has been disappointing for the Flyers so far as they have had a hard time gaining any traction.  When they have been good, things have looked great but for the most part, the Flyers have looked awful.  It wouldn’t be surprising to see some changes in the lineups soon if there is not improvement.  And those changes might come since the Flyers have been horrible on the road and this game will be the start of a 5 game road trip.  If their road woes continue, thing will look different by the time they return home.

The New York Rangers will take the home ice looking to reverse their fortunes as well.  They have more losses than wins in recent games and will look to use these two games against a team that they have had some success against to build a foundation for future success.  But even if they can get past the Flyers, the Rangers still need to work on their efforts on both ends of the ice if they want to improve their record and their place in the standings as the season moves along.   There is still time for the Rangers to improve, but they will have to start doing it right now.
