On Saturday, the Philadelphia Flyers will be hoping that they can finally end their long losing streak when they take on the Los Angeles Kings. Earlier this year, the Flyers were able to defeat the Kings 3-2 in overtime.

The Flyers lost their sixth game in a row on Wednesday night when the Anaheim Ducks beat them 5-4 in the shootout. Philadelphia lost that game despite going 1-for-2 on the power play and outshooting the Ducks 35-33.

So far this season, the Flyers have had one of the lower-rated defenses in the league by allowing opponents to score 3.1 goals per game against them. Their top offensive threat has been right wing Jakub Voracek, who has nine goals and 24 assists through 25 games. Netminder Steve Mason is just 4-9-3 this year with a .914 save percentage and a 2.78 GAA.

The Kings played solid defense in their game against the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday night and came away with a 4-0 shutout. Backup goalie Martin Jones was the first star in that win by stopping all 26 of the Coyotes' shots on goal.

So far this year, the Kings have a top five defense by only allowing their opponents to score 2.1 goals per game against them. Center Tyler Toffoli has been their top offensive contributor by scoring 10 goals and assisting on 10 others.
