On Saturday, the Philadelphia Flyers will try to pick up their first win of the season when they visit the Dallas Stars. Last season, the Flyers and the Stars played each other twice with both teams picking up one win.

In their game against the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday, the Flyers were able to score a third period goal to send the game into overtime, but they still ended up losing 4-3 in the shootout. Philadelphia converted two of their four power-play opportunities into goals in that game.

Right wing Wayne Simmonds has been excellent for the Flyers through four games, scoring five goals and assisting on two others. Center Claude Giroux has a goal and four assists, but he is also a minus-4. Goaltender Steve Mason is 0-2-1 in three starts and he has a very low .884 save percentage.

The Stars were able to hand the Pittsburgh Penguins their first loss of the year by beating them 3-2 on the road on Thursday. Dallas won despite giving up two power-play goals and being outhit 33-12 in the game.

Through four games, the Stars' top offensive contributor has been left wing Jamie Benn, who has two goals and three assists. Center Tyler Seguin has a team-leading four goals and a plus-2 so far this season. Goalie Kari Lehtonen has a 2-0-1 record in three starts with a solid .933 save percentage and a 1.95 GAA.
