The New York Rangers were able to go on the road and dominate the Ottawa Senators the last time they played each other in a game they eventually won 8-4. In the win, goalie Henrik Lundqvist became the winningest goalie in Rangers' history with 302 career victories.

In the the first period, the Senators actually looked like the better team, getting goals from Mike Hoffman and Mika Zibanejad to go into the second period up 2-1. Then the Rangers took over, scoring four unanswered goals and taking a 5-2 lead into the third. In the final period, Milan Michalek got one back for the Senators to make it 5-3, but then Derek Stepan and Derick Brassard scored two minutes apart to make it 7-3. Ottawa's Bobby Ryan got his 23rd goal of the season before the Rangers' Rick Nash got his 22nd to give the Rangers the 8-4 win.

Brassard was the top offensive performer in the game, scoring two goals and adding an assist in the win. Nash had two goals for the visitors, while right wing Mats Zuccarello added two assists for the Rangers.

Lundqvist didn't have his best game, stopping 35 of the 39 shots he faced, but he and Rangers' fans will remember the game because of the history he made. With his 302 wins, he broke a tie with former Ranger Mike Richter as the team's wins leader.
