On Sunday night, the Ottawa Senators will be going up against the Chicago Blackhawks in a game between two of the better defenses in the league.

Both teams had a road win against the other last year in their two-game regular season series. Chicago beat Ottawa 6-5 at home early in the season, and the Senators were able to win 5-3 in their second game against each other.

The Senators have struggled to score goals this season, but their defense has helped them to an early-season winning record. Defenseman Erik Karlsson has been able to pick up three assists in five games against the Blackhawks in his career, while center Kyle Turris has three goals and two assists against them in 12 games. Goalie Craig Anderson played against Chicago eight times and has a 5-1-2 record against them with a .905 save percentage.

The Blackhawks have also had their early-season struggles on offense, but they are near the top of the league in both goals against and penalty kill percentage. Veteran left wing Patrick Sharp has three goals and 10 points in his 12 career games against the Senators, while All-Star Jonathan Toews has four goals and four assists against them in eight games. Netminder Corey Crawford has gone up against Ottawa twice in his career and is 2-0-0 against them with a 1.92 GAA and a .927 save percentage.
