The New York Rangers last played the Winnipeg Jets on December 2nd and managed to lose 5-2. The game was close all the way until the third period and each team had over thirty shots on goal. The Jets goalie, Ondrej Pavelec, was a big part of their success and had thirty five saves against the Rangers.

The game was tied 2-2 in the third period until Olli Jokinen scored with 12:42 left in the game. Jokinen then scored again with less than nine minutes left to play. Jokinen’s scores seemed to swing the momentum of the game fully in the Jets favor and they would go on to score one more goal before the game ended.

With the loss on December 2nd to Winnipeg the New York Rangers went into a 5-9 slide. New York bounced back nicely later in the season however and now sits second in their division behind Pittsburgh.
