On Saturday night, the New York Rangers will be visiting the Vancouver Canucks, who are currently on a three-game losing streak. During the 2013-14 season, the Rangers were able to sweep the Canucks in their two-game series against each other.

On Monday night, the Rangers snapped their two-game losing streak by defeating the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 in overtime. They won that game despite being outshot 35-39 and going goalless on their four power play chances.

Through 26 games, the Rangers are one of the better scoring teams in the Eastern Conference by averaging 2.9 goals per game. Their best offensive threat has been left wing Rick Nash, who has 18 goals and 10 assists. Netminder Henrik Lundqvist now has a 10-7-3 record on the year with four shutouts and a .906 save percentage.

The Canucks lost their third straight game on Tuesday night when the Montreal Canadiens defeated them 3-1 on the road. Their power play was very poor in that loss, going 0-for-5 with the extra man on the night.

So far this season, the Canucks have one of the top penalty kills in the NHL by only allowing opposing power plays to score 13.9 percent of the time against them. Veteran right wing Radim Vrbata has been one of their better offensive players by scoring a team-high 12 goals and assisting on 11 more goals.
