The New York Rangers and the Los Angeles Kings will face off in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals on Wednesday night. The Rangers came into the playoffs as the fifth seed out the the Eastern Conference, while the Kings were the No. 6 seed out of the West.

The Rangers were able to beat the Montreal Canadiens in six games in the Eastern Conference Finals. They looked like the better team the majority of the series and were able to finish off the Habs last Thursday by a score of 1-0.

The Rangers' best offensive player throughout the postseason has been mid-season acquisition Martin St. Louis, who has six goals and seven assists in 20 games. Defenseman Ryan McDonagh leads the team with 10 assists in the playoffs. Netminder Henrik Lundqvist has a .928 save percentage and a 2.03 GAA this postseason.

The Kings looked like they were going to breeze through the Eastern Conference Finals against the Blackhawks after taking a 3-1 lead in the series, but it took seven games to get the job done. In that seventh game, the Kings were able to move on thanks to an Alec Martinez series-winning overtime goal.

Center Anze Kopitar has been the Kings' top performer in the playoffs this year by scoring five goals and assisting on 19 others. Marian Gaborik has lead the team in goals with 12, while defenseman Drew Doughty has contributed 12 assists.
