The New York Rangers, who are 3-4-1 on the road so far this year, will be visiting the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night. Early last month, the Rangers were able to beat the Red Wings 4-3 in overtime.

On Monday night, the Rangers had their two-game winning streak come to an end when the Tampa Bay Lightning beat them 6-3 in New York. They played pretty well on offense in that loss, but they also allowed the Lightning to score six goals on just 21 shots.

Through their first 24 games, the Rangers are in the top 10 in the league in scoring by averaging 2.9 goals per game. Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist has a 9-7-3 record this season with four shutouts, a 2.70 GAA and a .905 save percentage. Left wing Rick Nash has been their top offensive contributor by notching 16 goals and a team-high 26 points.

The Red Wings scored three goals in the first period of their game against the Dallas Stars on Thursday and rolled to a 5-2 home win. Center Darren Helm was the best player in that game by scoring two of the Red Wings' five goals.

Through 26 games, the Red Wings have had one of the better offenses in the NHL by scoring 3.1 goals per game. Veteran netminder Jimmy Howard has a 12-5-4 record this season with a 2.22 GAA and a .916 save percentage.
