On Saturday, the New York Rangers will visit the Columbus Blue Jackets on their first division game of the season. The Rangers were able to win three of their four games against the Blue Jackets in 2013-14.

New York opened their season against the St. Louis Blues on Thursday and worked hard to come away with a 3-2 road win. They did convert any of their power-play chances in the win, but they also held the Blues scoreless on their five power-play opportunities.

The Rangers were led by left wing Rick Nash in that opening game as he was able to score two goals in the win and assist on the other. Chris Kreider had a goal and an assist, while Martin St. Louis chipped in with two assists. Goalie Henrik Lundqvist gave up just two goals and finished with a solid .920 save percentage.

Columbus went on the road in their opening game on Thursday night and was able to beat the Buffalo Sabres 3-1. The game was close until the third period when the Blue Jackets were able to score two goals to seal the win.

Blue Jackets goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky was able to stop 21 of the 22 shots he faced in that game against the Sabres for a very good .955 save percentage. Their top offensive player was Cam Atkinson, who put three shots on goal and had one tally.
