The New York Rangers will look to extend their winning streak when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday. In their first game against each other this season, the Rangers were able to pull off a 2-1 shutout victory over the Hurricanes.

On Tuesday night, the Rangers were able to pick up their fourth consecutive win when they easily beat the Calgary Flames 5-2 on the road. Left wing Rick Nash was once again their most important offensive player by scoring two of the team's five goals.

Through their first 29 games this season, the Rangers are in the top five in the league in scoring with three goals per game. Nash now has a team-best 20 goals on the year along with 13 assists. Veteran goaltender Henrik Lundqvist has a solid 13-7-3 record this season with five shutouts, a .912 save percentage and a 2.48 GAA.

On Thursday night, the Hurricanes used a strong start to defeat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-1 at home. They were 1-for-3 on the power play in that win and won 46 of the game's 68 faceoffs.

So far this season, the Hurricanes have barely been able to score two goals per game, and their defense and goaltending are allowing opponents to score nearly three goals per game against them. Veteran goalie Cam Ward is 9-12-1 on the season with one shutout, a .909 save percentage and a 2.47 GAA.
