The New York Islanders, who are 7-4-0 on the road this season, will be visiting the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday night. In mid-October, the Penguins were able to beat the Islanders 6-3 at home.

On Tuesday night, the Islanders played well in the second half of their game against the Tampa Bay Lightning and came away with a 5-2 home win. They outshot the Lightning 36-28 in that win, and they were able to hold them scoreless on their three power play opportunities.

The Islanders are currently fourth in the NHL in scoring with 3.1 goals per game. Right wing Kyle Okposo has had a good start to the season by notching five goals and a team-high 13 assists. Veteran goalie Jaroslav Halak is now 8-4-0 through 12 starts with two shutouts, a 2.54 GAA and a .914 save percentage.

The Penguins were able to win their third game in a row on Tuesday night when they shut out the Montreal Canadiens 4-0 on the road. They were 1-for-1 on the power play in that win, and netminder Marc-Andre Fleury picked up his league-best fourth shutout of the season.

The Penguins have been the best team in the East by scoring 3.6 goals per game and only giving up 2.1 goals per game. Fleury has an 11-3-0 record on the season with an excellent 1.98 GAA and a .930 save percentage. Right wing Patric Hornqvist has 20 points this season, including a team-high nine goals.
