On Saturday night, the New York Islanders will take on the Pittsburgh Penguins in a game between two of the best power play units in the league. The Penguins were able to win three of their four games against the Islanders last year.

The Islanders were able to keep their perfect record intact on Thursday night by beat San Jose 4-3 in the shootout. They were 1-for-2 on their power play chances in that game and they outshot San Jose 45-23.

The Islanders are currently in the top three in the NHL in both scoring and power play percentage. Center John Tavares has two goals and currently leads the team in assists (7) and points (9). The team leader in goals is center Brock Nelson with four, while goaltender Jaroslav Halak is 3-0-0 this season with a .900 save percentage.

On Thursday night, the Penguins lost for the first time this season when they were beaten 3-2 by the Dallas Stars on home ice. They were up by a goal heading into the third period in that game, but the Stars were able to score twice in the final three minutes to steal the win.

Star center Sidney Crosby has started the season on fire for the Penguins by accumulating four goals and three assists in the team's first three games. Netminder Marc-Andre Fleury is now 2-1-0 after that loss with a 3.00 GAA and a .890 save percentage.
