The New York Islanders will be going for their third win in a row when they face the Ottawa Senators on Thursday. The Islanders are currently right at the top of the Metropolitan standings, while the Islanders are near the bottom of the Atlantic Division.

The Islanders have now won seven out of their last eight games after beating the Senators 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday night. They were 0-for-2 on the power play in that win, but they also outshot the Senators 28-18.

In that game on Tuesday, Islanders defenseman Thomas Hickey had one of his better games of the season by scoring one goal and providing the assist on another. Senators left wing Clarke MacArthur scored one of his team's two goals and assisted on the other.

Through 25 games, the Islanders are seventh in the league in scoring with three goals per game. Center John Tavares has 10 goals and 13 assists on the season, while right wing Kyle Okposo currently leads the team in assists with 17. Veteran goaltender Jaroslav Halak is now 13-4-0 on the year with three shutouts, a 2.12 GAA and a .925 save percentage.

The Senators have only been able to average 2.5 goals per game this season while allowing their opponents to score 2.7 goals per game against them. Netminder Craig Anderson has a 5-5-4 record this season with a 2.46 GAA and a .930 save percentage.
