On Saturday, the New York Islanders will take their in-form offense on the road to face the struggling defense of the Arizona Coyotes.

The Islanders and the Coyotes spit their two-game regular season series last year. New York came away with a dominant 6-1 win over the Coyotes in the first game, but the Coyotes won 6-3 at home later in the season.

Arizona defenseman Keith Yandle has played well in his six games against the Islanders by scoring a goal and picking up six assists. Right wing Shane Doan has seven goals and eight assists in 19 games against them, while netminder Mike Smith is 3-2-0 in six starts against them with one shutout and a .908 save percentage.

The Islanders won their second straight game on Thursday when they defeated the Los Angeles Kings 2-1 in the shootout. Their penalty kill did well to hold the Kings scoreless on their four power play chances in that win.

So far this season, the Islanders have done well offensively by scoring three goals per game against their opponents. Center John Tavares has six goals and a team-high 15 goals through 13 games, while Brock Nelson has 14 points and a plus/minus of +2. Goalie Jaroslav Halak has had a rough start to the season by going 4-4-0 with a 3.24 GAA and a .898 save percentage.
