The New Jersey Devils will go on the road to face the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night in a game between two struggling offenses. During the 2013-14 season, the Jets were able to win both of their games against the Devils.

Over the weekend, the Devils had their two-game winning streak snapped when they were beaten 3-2 by the Colorado Avalanche. They were outshot 29-25 in that loss and they ended up going 0-for-2 on the power play.

One of the things that has hurt the Devils this season is their penalty kill, which has allowed opposing power plays to score on them 30 percent of the time. Veteran Jaromir Jagr has been their best offensive player, but even he only has 12 points in 18 games. Goalie Cory Schneider is 8-7-2 with a .910 save percentage and a 2.71 GAA.

On Sunday night, the Jets lost their second straight game when they were defeated 4-3 in overtime by the Minnesota Wild. Their power play very poor in that loss, finishing 0-for-8 when they had the extra man.

The Jets' offense has struggled so far this season, averaging just 1.8 goals per game against their opponents. Goalie Ondrej Pavelec has had a good start to the season by going 7-6-2 with a 2.14 GAA and a .923 save percentage. Right wing Blake Wheeler has been their best offensive player with his eight goals and team-high 13 points.
