On Saturday night, the New Jersey Devils will try to snap their two-game losing skid when they go up against the New York Rangers. In their first meeting of the season, the Rangers defeated the Devils 4-3 in overtime on the road.

In their game against the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night, the Devils scored a game-tying goal in the third period, then went on to win the game 2-1 in the shootout. Goalie Cory Schneider was solid in that win, stopping 32 of the 33 shots that came his way.

The Devils are currently in the top 10 in the league in power play percentage by scoring on 21 percent of their chances with the extra man. Center Adam Henrique has been one of their better offensive players by notching nine goals and 11 assists in his 29 games.

On Tuesday, the Rangers won their sixth consecutive game when they defeated the Washington Capitals 4-2 in New York. Winger Rick Nash had another great offensive performance, scoring three out his team's four goals.

The Rangers have been able to score with relative ease this year, averaging three goals per contest against opposing teams. Nash now has 23 goals on the year and leads New York in points with 36. Veteran netminder Henrik Lundqvist is 15-7-3 this year with five shutouts and a 2.44 GAA and a .913 save percentage.
