In their last meeting, the New Jersey Devils were able to trounce the New York Islanders 6-1 in possibly their best road game of the season. The night was an especially memorable one for Jaromir Jagr, who had yet another milestone game by scoring his 700th goal.

After the Devils' Adam Henrique scored his 17th goal of the season in the first period on a power-play tally, New Jersey had a field day in the second by scoring four in an 11 minute stretch. Jagr got his 700th goal to start off the barrage, followed by Ryane Clowe's power-play goal a minute later. Kyle Okposo then got one back for the Islanders, but New Jersey answered with goals from Marek Zidlicky and Mark Fayne. Eric Gelinas capped off the scoring for the game with a power-play goal in the third to give the Devils the 6-1 win.

New Jersey goalie Martin Brodeur didn't have much to do in this one, but he was able to save 18 of the 19 shots he faced. Evgeni Nabokov started the game in net for the Isles, but was replaced after two periods after giving up five goals and only stopping 14.

Jagr became just the seventh player in NHL history to score 700 goals in his career. While he won't ever be able to catch up to Wayne Gretzky's 894, the 42-year-old does have a chance to move up the list before he hangs up his skates.
