On Saturday night, the New Jersey Devils will go on the road to take on the high-scoring Calgary Flames.

Last season the Flames were able to defeat the Devils on both of their games against each other. They shut out the Devils 1-0 at home early in the season, and then went on to beat them 3-2 in New Jersey later in the campaign.

Devils netminder Cory Schneider is 4-3-0 against the Flames in his career with an excellent .938 save percentage and a 1.98 GAA. Future Hall of Famer Jaromir Jagr has been able to notch 12 goals and 25 assists against Calgary in 30 games, while left wing Patrik Elias has six goals and nine points in 17 games against them.

The Flames had their three-game winning streak come to an end on Thursday when they were defeated 4-3 by the Chicago Blackhawks. They lost that game despite outshooting the Blackhawks 27-22 and converting on two of their six power plays.

Through 21 games, the Flames are near the top of the league in scoring by notching over three goals per game. Defenseman Mark Giordano has had a very good start to the season by notching six goals and 16 assists for Calgary. Veteran goalie Jonas Hiller is now 9-5-1 on the season with one shutout, a 2.45 GAA and a .914 save percentage.
