The Nashville Predators will hope that their stingy defense can contain the high-scoring offense of the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night. The Predators and the Maple Leafs split their two-game regular season series last year.

Nashville has now won four out of their last five games after defeating the Winnipeg Jets 2-1 at home on Saturday. They were 0-for-4 on the power play in that game, but they were also able to hold the Jets to just 22 shots on goal.

The Predators have only been able to score 2.5 goals per game this season, but their defense and goaltending has made up for it by only giving up two goals per game. Goalie Pekka Rinne has a solid 11-3-1 record this season with a shutout, a 1.92 GAA and a .929 save percentage. Filip Forsberg has been one of the best players in the league by accumulating 20 points in 17 games.

The Maple Leafs gave up two goals in all three periods of their game against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday and were blown out 6-2. They allowed the Sabres to convert one of their two power play chances and they also gave up a shorthanded goal in that loss.

Through 18 games, the Maple Leafs are in the top five in the league in scoring with 3.1 goals scored per game. Right wing Phil Kessel has been the team's best player by notching 11 goals and 11 assists this season. Goaltender Jonathan Bernier is now 5-4-2 with a shutout and a .920 save percentage.
