The Nashville Predators will face the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night in a game that will feature two of the better defenses in the league. The Blues were able to win all five of their games against the Predators last year.

The Predators' hot start to the season continued on Thursday when they were able to beat the Dallas Stars 3-2 on the road. They were excellent on the power play in that win, going 2-for-3 with the extra man.

Through 13 games, the Preds have one of the top defenses by only giving up two goals per game to their opponents. Their best offensive player has been youngster Filip Forsberg, who has scored five goals and assisted on eight others. Goaltender Pekka Rinne has an 8-2-1 record this year with a shutout and a 1.89 GAA.

On Thursday, the Blues gave up three third-period goals to the New Jersey Devils, but they held them off for a 4-3 home win. St. Louis scored twice on the power play in that win while holding the Devils scoreless on their three power-play opportunities.

The Blues have only scored 2.5 goals per game so far this season, but they have also only given up 1.9 goals per game. Right wing Vladimir Tarasenko has had a great start to the season by scoring nine goals and accumulating 16 points. Backup goalie Jake Allen has a 4-1-0 record with a very solid .944 save percentage.
